Parallel Fire is a dual-screen vertical shooter where you control two ships simultaneously with the same inputs (WASD to move, spacebar to fire). Both ships move and shoot identically, but each side features its own independently generated enemy waves, so patterns that are safe on the left can be lethal on the right. The main challenge comes from splitting your attention between two different situations at once while managing a shared heat meter that prevents continuous firing.

The game has no traditional scoring system; your final score is simply the total combined lifetime of both ships. It features three difficulty modes (Standard, Hardcore, and Godlike) that increase enemy speed, toughness, spawn rates, and heat buildup while reducing powerup drops.

Standard starts very slow so you can get the hang of the controls. It should probably be called crybaby mode, but  I don't like to offend or insult.

Interesting, I like the graphics, really smooth, the music for the hardcore mod is catchy, but the others are kinda soft. It's fun, but it's too bad that when you lose all the hearts of one ship, it gets definitely destroyed and you play with only one ship, which makes it much more easier and it doesn't feel like a punishment to lose one ship. But overall, it's good, the bullets and the sounds effects are satisfying and the gameplay is still enjoyable.

Yes I struggled with that. The fact that the score counts up twice as fast when you have two ships is meant to be encouragement to keep them both alive but you may well be right that the better approach would be to require that both ships be alive or game over. I'll be curious to see if anyone else weighs in on this.
